POKER TIPS (TEXAS HOLD'EM)

Do you want to learn and become the best poker player? You are in the right place. Poker is a game where several cards are dealt by the dealer to players by initially getting two cards each and five community cards dealt on the flop. The flop comprises of first three cards dealt face down then after players act on a round of betting another card is open on the turn which is the fourth card and the last card is known as the river.

The other important thing is the placing of the blinds. Blinds are the compulsory bets that players are supposed to place before the first issuing of cards begins. There are two types of blinds the small blind which is played by the player on the left of the dealers' button while the other blind which is the big blind is placed by the next player after the small blind. With that knowledge of how to go about playing poker let me give you a few tips on how to play the game.

  • Learn to play a few hands and as you do so be aggressive in betting and raising to defend the hand that has been dealt to you if only you find that hand is worth playing. For instance, if you have high cards like Ace-King for with such combinations you can bet raise to defend that hand.

  • Bluff wisely. One can only bluff if only you feel that the hand you have been given can get you closer to winning that round. Hands like a flush draw, a straight draw can be used to bluff your fellow players but one has to be wise while doing it.

  • Learn how to fast play. When you have a strong hand, don't slow down in betting because the main aim is to protect the pot as much as you can. Don't be intimidated by fear but always make a quick move whenever you have a strong hand.
  • Defending your big blind. After a round of matching the blinds, you can defend your big blind by raising to increase more money in the pot. Be careful if more than two players call your raise since you have no idea the contents of their hands and in the next round of betting you have to play it tight.
  • Know when to fold. Whenever you are not sure of the hand that has been given to you, the best thing to do at this point is to fold instead of putting more money in the pot by betting with uncertainties and end up losing. There is no point in playing that round with a weak hand for instance when you are dealt with two low cards of a combination of 2 and 5 while the flop has all picture cards.
  • Learn to be aggressive. You have to be aggressive in the initial stages of poker to build your chips because the more chips you have the longer you will be in the game.
                Conclusion

Poker is a game of skills than a game of chance. Know when to bet, raise, re-raise, call, and fold. With the few tips above, applying them while in a poker game can help greatly. Never go to a poker table with fear and doubts for the best thing to do is relax and watch every action that takes place in the game
